About Social Parler

Social Parler is a small, independent guide to live conversation on X: hashtag chats in the Q1/A1 format, Spaces, and everything around them, from picking a time slot to writing the recap afterward.

The home page has a free chat-session planner. Enter a topic, a date and a start time, and it converts the time for five regions, lays out a timed run of show, and writes the question posts for you to copy or download. The guides cover the rest: how Twitter chats worked, how to host a weekly chat, the Q1/A1 format and its etiquette, promotion, recaps, and hosting a Space.

Who writes it

Social Parler is written and maintained by the Social Parler Team. We check the guides against X's help center and announcements when we update them, and each guide shows the date it was last revised. X changes its features often, so if something no longer matches what you see in the app, please tell us.

We don't host chats or Spaces ourselves, don't run a directory of other people's sessions, and don't sell promotion or sponsorships. There are no ads, affiliate links, trackers or cookies on this site.

The name

A parlor was the room in a house set aside for conversation, and "parler" is French for "to talk." The site is about making room for conversation on X.

History of the domain

The socialparler.com domain has been used by other websites over the years. It was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management and has no connection to any earlier owners of the domain or the sites they ran. Nothing from those sites was carried over.
